Will 2010 be Better for Lucky Pennies?

Since my last post, I've been extremely busy. I still managed to find lucky pennies and other lucky found change while out and about running around town doing errands and business. I found a total of 19 lucky pennies (1¢ coin), 3 lucky dimes (10¢ coin), 2 lucky nickles (5¢ coin), and even one lucky loonie ($1 coin) for a total of found change of $1.59 over 8 days. That gives me a daily average of 1.59/8 ~ $0.19 per day. If I've calculated correctly, April 30, 2010 is the 119th day of 2010. So my daily found change running average (in dollars) is approximately $0.08. If I keep this running average up, I'll have found just under $30.00 in found change by the end up the year. It'll be interesting to see how 2010 shapes up compared to how much found change I found in 2009.

Total Found Change Since Last Post: $1.59
Total Recorded 2010: $9.87 + €0.06 + £0.01
Grand Total Since Recording January 19, 2009: $32.78 + $1.59 + £0.31 + €0.06 = $34.37 + £0.31 + €0.06.

QUESTION: What's your running average so far this year? How is 2010 comparing to 2009 for lucky found change? Please share your thoughts in the comments section of this post.

Poetry Reading and Two Lucky Pennies

Earlier this evening I had a chance to go to a poetry reading in celebration of National Poetry Month. I had a great time, especially since I had marvelous company. On the trip to and from the event, I found two lucky pennies :) Nice.

Total Recorded 2010: $8.28 + €0.06 + £0.01
Grand Total Since Recording January 19, 2009: $32.76 + $0.02 + £0.31 + €0.06 = $32.78 + £0.31 + €0.06.

P.S. -- It's almost May here in Vancouver. When it starts to warm up a little more in the higher altitudes, you may have a found change bonanza if you know how to identify 'heat-holes' at winter recreation areas as the snow recedes. My Life May Be Crazy, But I Still Find Lucky Pennies :)

Life has been totally crazy for me lately -- generally speaking, this is a good thing :) Despite the craziness, I still manage to find lucky found change almost every day I go out. Yes, the universe pays me just for existing :)

Since my last post on April 14 ("Seven Lucky Pennies over Three Days"), I have found a total of 2 lucky dimes, 1 lucky nickle, and 9 lucky pennies for a total of 34¢. Nice :)

I found all this change while running about my usual business. This entailed walking (great for general fitness) and taking transit in and around the Greater Vancouver region to Gorilla Food, OrganicLives, and various grocery stores for organic raw vegan food; to various libraries to pick up books, various banks for business, as well as some short visits with friends. I did this in the midst of my busy work schedule. Nice.

Total Found Change Since Last Post: $0.34
Total Recorded 2010: $8.26 + €0.06 + £0.01
Grand Total Since Recording January 19, 2009: $32.42 + $0.29 + £0.31 + €0.06 = $32.76 + £0.31 + €0.06.

QUESTION: What's the most interesting piece of found change you've found recently? Is it found in the checklist for potentially valuable Canadian coins (pennies, dimes, nickles, quarters, dollars, etc.) that I compiled? Please tell us about your finds in the comments section of this post.

Five Lucky Pennies Found While Running Errands

Today I ran several errands around town. Afterwords, I headed to OrganicLives (1829 Quebec Street, Vancouver, BC) to pick up some high-quality organic raw food staples. Later in the day, I had to quickly swing by the local bank and pick up some rechargeable batteries from a local store.

While doing all this running around, I found five lucky pennies :) Nice.

Later in the day, I went to OrganicLives for some raw living coconut cream pie. Afterwords, I went to an art opening held by the talented Tanya Slingsby (Canadian abstract artist). On my way to both OrganicLives and the art opening, I found one lucky dime and one lucky penny just outside a Skytrain station. Nice :)
